But those who understand them and use them correctly have a clear advantage!<\/p>\n<p>What are assistance systems?<br \/>\nDriver assistance systems support the driver &#8211; they warn, intervene or relieve the driver of certain driving tasks.<\/p>\n<p>The most important ones include<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ABS (anti-lock braking system) &#8211; prevents the wheels from locking when braking<\/li>\n<li>ESP (electronic stability program) &#8211; stabilizes the vehicle if there is a risk of skidding<\/li>\n<li>Lane departure warning system &#8211; warns or actively steers if the vehicle unintentionally leaves its lane<\/li>\n<li>Adaptive cruise control (ACC) &#8211; automatically keeps its distance from the vehicle in front<\/li>\n<li>Emergency Brake Assist &#8211; detects obstacles and can initiate emergency braking<\/li>\n<li>Blind Spot Warning &#8211; indicates vehicles in the blind spot<\/li>\n<li>Parking aid \/ reversing camera &#8211; facilitates safe maneuvering<\/li>\n<li>Traffic sign recognition &#8211; displays current speed limits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These systems can save lives &#8211; but only if you know how to use them safely, if you know
