On the way to your driver’s license, you don’t just need driving lessons, but also various courses and training. Here you will find an overview of traffic awareness (VKU), the first aid course, and WAB / two-phase training.
Driving lessons and personal exam preparation take place at Fahrschule Gabi Senn. For individual courses, I work with proven partners or refer you to suitable providers.
Traffic awareness (VKU)
Traffic awareness lessons, or VKU for short, are an important step on the way to your practical driving test. In the VKU, you learn to recognize road hazards early, assess situations correctly, and act responsibly.
You can attend traffic awareness lessons at my partner driving school. Several VKU courses take place weekly at Fahrschule Ha.Pe.Kreuel.

First aid course
The first aid course is an essential part of getting your learner’s permit. You learn how to react correctly in an emergency, provide first aid, and initiate life-saving immediate measures.

WAB / Two-phase training
After passing the practical driving test, the WAB follows, also known as two-phase training. It is aimed at new drivers and helps them reflect more consciously on their own driving behavior and stay safer on the road.
You can find more information on the WAB / Two-phase training page.

Understanding and safely using assistance systems
Modern vehicles are equipped with many driver assistance systems. Since July 1, 2025, driver assistance and automation systems have also been part of the theoretical and practical driving test.
In the course “Understanding and safely using assistance systems”, you will learn how modern systems work, where their limits are, and how to use them safely in everyday life.

FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions
How many driving lessons are mandatory?
In Switzerland, driving lessons are not mandatory, but they are recommended to pass the practical test. It is not the number of lessons that counts, but your driving skills alone.
How much does a driving lesson cost?
The price for a driving lesson varies from driving school to driving school and from region to region. In Switzerland, you can expect a price for a driving lesson between CHF 80 and CHF 110.
Price is not the most important thing; rather, it’s the interaction between the driving instructor and the student-the chemistry has to be right. This influences learning success and is ultimately decisive for the number of hours you need.
